Competition Squads

Tumble Squad

We are very proud to have a competitive tumbling squad of over 50 tumblers. Tumblers are selected by our Head Coach and train between 1.5 hours and 6 hours a week.

Our competition squad is split into the development squad, junior squad and main squad with our top level regional tumblers as the Elite squad tumblers. There are 6 club levels, 4 regionals levels then tumblers move onto FIG level. We also have a small section of tumblers who compete the new and developing disability tumble pathway.

Competition season runs roughly from September to March each year then finals in June/July for those who qualify.

Floor and Vault Squad

We have a fantastic Floor and Vault Squad that provides more opportunity for a range of skills, floor routines and themed competitions than the tumble pathway. Floor and Vault gymnasts are selected by our Head Coach and train between 2 hours and 6 hours a week.

The floor and vault pathway has the following levels; Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Our gymnasts are currently in the first 3 levels for this pathway and developing so well. Gymnasts must qualify to move up to the next level.

Floor routines develop up the levels to start to introduce artistry, presentation and then music from advanced levels and above.

Competitions run all year and are all within Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

Men’s Artistic Squad

Our newest squad is our Men’s Artistic Competition Squad, this is a discipline never done at the club before so we are learning the discipline and competition scene with our small section on boys who we currently have on the pathway. This squad is currently a lower level squad in the beginning phases due to this pathway being extremely challenging. Men’s artistic gymnasts are selected by our Head Coach and train between 1.5-4.5 hours per week.

Men’s Artistic gymnastics includes the 6 men’s apparatus; Rings, Parallel Bars, Floor, Vault, High Bar and Pommel. Strength and flexibility are hugely important in this discipline of gymnastics. Boys look to start Men’s Artistic gymnastics around the age of 6/7 years.

Our competitive squads are a big family who support each other and enjoy training in a gymnast-centred environment. Our goal is not to win everything but to build our gymnast to be the best they can be, reach their goals and work through the journey of competitive sport to get to the end goal of winning or achieving.

Gymnasts are selected to join our competition squads from our recreational classes so if you are looking for your gymnast to join a squad, the recreational classes are the best place to start! Please note that not all gymnasts will be suited to a squad, a number of factors are taken into consideration when selecting squad gymnasts.
